As a ten-time world record-breaking explorer, Colin O’Brady is constantly setting and meeting goals. He’s a speaker, entrepreneur, and author who helps others set and achieve their own goals. Colin’s highly publicized expeditions have captivated millions. His work has been featured in The New York Times, The Tonight Show, The Joe Rogan Experience, and The Today Show.

Perhaps Colin’s most impressive feat was completing the world’s first solo, unsupported, and fully human-powered crossing of Antarctica. He’s also set speed records for the Explorers Grand Slam and the Seven Summits, and he completed the first human-powered ocean row across the Drake Passage. What’s even more impressive, is that three months prior to crossing the passage, Colin had never rowed before!

Colin’s latest book

is The 12-Hour Walk: Invest One Day, Conquer Your Mind, and Unlock Your Best Life.  In it, he instructs readers on how they can take one day to dig into their minds and determine their true goals. I’m so excited to try this myself! Because even though I periodically examine my existing goals and set new ones, I’m a big believer in shifting your mindset whenever possible.

I loved this conversation with Colin, because it only takes a few minutes to recognize this guy’s authenticity. He doesn’t do the incredible things he does to show off, or impress people. Instead, he does them to prove to himself he can do them– and to inspire others to achieve their own “impossible” goals. He wants everyone to discover their own Everest, or Antarctica, so to speak. Colin’s 12-hour walk is all about digging inside your mind to find your why, so you can effectively work out the how.
