23 Oct How To Soak Chia Seeds Overnight
Chia seeds are amazing. They are one of my foundational superfoods that you can eat every day to add nutritional support and health benefits to your SuperLife.
If you are going to eat chia seeds, I highly recommend that you soak them!
Soaking chia seeds “sprouts” them and breaks down “enzyme inhibitors” that protect the seeds.

One, this makes it much easier to digest, and two, your body can then access the dense nutrients inside the seeds. In my opinion, you always want to get the most nutrition possible from any food that you eat, so I prefer soaking chia seeds before adding them to my food. Plus, soaking chia seeds in water adds additional health benefits!

The great news is that soaking chia seeds is not hard! Here are some simple directions to soak chia seeds and always have them waiting for you in your refrigerator.
Gluten-Free, Dairy-Free, Soy-Free, Vegan, Vegetarian, Paleo
- Glass pitcher or glass jar
(Note: Use all organic, fresh ingredients if possible)
5 tbsp whole chia seeds (I use this brand)
4 cups distilled water
STEPS TO SOMETHING DELICIOUS
Add 5 tbsp organic chia seeds to distilled water in a glass pitcher or jar. Shake once, let sit for one minute, shake again, and put in the refrigerator. Use after 8-12 hours, when it has taken on a gel-like consistency. It will keep in the fridge for up to a week.
Use in salads and smoothies over the week, or combine with the juice of 1/2 an organic orange in a glass as a delicious refreshing drink! You can add the soaked chia to these infused water recipes for a great fat/protein boost as well.
