30 May Feed Your Skin Berry Smoothie
Did you know our skin gets resurfaced every two weeks? Even more powerfully, “local disturbances as well as internal ones are quickly manifested in our skin, and the foods we eat have a metabolic impact on our surfaces!” (SuperLife, 226). You need to be fueling your body with the foods that will nourish it and make it healthy constantly! This “Feed Your Skin” berry smoothie is a simple way to nourish your skin from the inside out by combining some of the many foods that really feed your skin.
KITCHEN UTENSILS
WHOLESOME INGREDIENTS
(Note: Use all organic, fresh ingredients if possible)
Serves 1
1 cup coconut or almond milk (Learn how to make your own!)
1 cup strawberries, fresh or frozen
1 cup blueberries, fresh or frozen
1-2 tbsp almond butter
½ avocado
1 inch turmeric, raw, fresh or 1 tsp turmeric powder
1 cup spinach, fresh, organic (or ½ frozen)
Optional: 2-4 ice cubes
Optional: 1 tsp raw honey, or stevia to taste
STEPS TO SOMETHING DELICIOUS
Wash the spinach and berries (if using fresh) and drain well. Pour non-dairy milk of choice into blender. Add the berries, spinach, almond butter, avocado, and turmeric to the blender. Mix until combined. Add optional ice cubes and sweeteners and blend until smooth. Pour into your favorite glass. Drink up and enjoy while you feed your skin!
